[By Eivkctiuc TiiLEciiArH—CopyßiGHT] IIiNiXEP Phesß AsgooUxrok.] ' London, October 20. •Interviewed prior to his' departure for South Africa, the Right Honorable A. Fischer, Minister' of the, Interior in the South African Union Government, said, with regard to the restriction of Asiatic immigration, that it is in vain for the Indians to think that the Act is likely to lw altered materially. The spirit of South Africa is rather to make the'"Act stricter. Asked if South Africa would welcome an Indian official appointed to inquire into the matter, Mr Fischer replied : "Certainly not. It is a matter lor the Government to deal with itself, and it would resent any interference. It would probably discuss the matter with the Imperial Government."
