WEATHER FORECAST.
The Government Meteorologist (Rev D. C. Bates') telegraphed this afternoon as follows:
The indications are for variable and strong breezes but southerly prevailing. The weather appears to be cloudy and unsettled. Heavy rain is to be expected, with rivers rising shortly. The weather will probably become colder. Barometer rising fast after about 10 hours.
