OBITUARY.
A cablegram from Tokio announces the death of General Couni Katsura,
who was 66 years of age. He was ,v Premier of Japan since 1901. He was
educated at the Military School in •Prussia and entered the Japanese army in 1867. He was Tire-Minister of the s.Army from 1886 to 1891. He served in the Chino-Japanese war from 1891 to i 895, and was Governor-Gen-eral of Formosa in 1890- He .was War Minister from 1898 to 1900.
