EGG CIRCLES.
WHAT WAIRARAPA IS DOING. It is now proposed to start an Egg Circle in Stratford "on sound and commercial lines"—as the promoters put it. That egg circles may be successful is evident from the following /taken from the ''Wairarapa Daily Times" : The Wairarajaa Egg Circle is distributing amongst its members this week the splendid sum of £292 odd; for eggs supplied 1 dujing July, winch is the largest amount yet paid out by the in ; any pno month, oince it commenced ppcirJtiyns in'-\f:iy. It is only through the presentation of such figures that the public can realise what a "live" thing the poultry industry is to the Dominion, also the necessity for such associations as Egg Circles, which provide the poultrykeeper with a medium of gel ting a fair pijice for his produce, whic huntil their advent was not the case during the greater pari of the year. During July, 11 new members jointed the circle, and so far seven more have joined in the present month. One of the main features, of the Wairarapa Circle is that it annually arranges contract': for the supplying of poultry feed to its members who are thus able to obtain fairly substantial concessions. Poultry-keepers not already belonging to the Circle should consider the question of joining at once, as the entrance for* and mdiscription is only 10s,- and tlio subscription for each succeeding year is ."is per annum. The Circle's agsnt (Mr W. .Tessen) in Wellington is again negotiating for a contract for preserved eggs for next year, as with the enforcement of the Pure Foods Act from next April the importation of eggs in dessicated form is to be abolished, which will necessarily create a keener demand for eggs in shell. •
