KIMS'S COLLEGE BOYS CO. On Saturday and Monday evening.' the above company appear at the Towi Hall, Stratford. The Wanganui Chro niclo of Tuesday, September 30, says
"The company comprises n male voca quartette, a male instrumental trio Miss Marcelene Roul-u's, soprano; Miss lona Auguste, Sotvity entertainer Jack Shields, original comedian; am Philip Lewis, operatic baritone. Ai enjoyable programme was presentee by the company, which was at frequent times the cause of hearty applause on tlio part of the audience The King's College party's contributions were- much enjoyed, the voice* blending well in the adaptations ol several well known "old favorites.'' These were much appreciated, and fro. quent recdls were demanded and kindly acceded to. It is seldom that_ a trio of such merit as the Vienna Trie visits Wanganui, and this comhina-
tion comprising two violinists and a harpist, last evening claimed the whole hearted appreciation of the audience. Each is an artist, and in company the party is in complete sympathy. Their items, which were always the subject of encores, included selections from "La Boheme," "Barcarolle," "The Rosary," "Cavalleria Rusticana," etc. The party are an entertainment in themselves, and should be heard by all who love the best music which is so well presented upon the instruments we have mentioned. Miss lona Auguste was a host in herself, and her items, "Agatha Green" (encored), and her really excellent child impersonations, were delightful. Miss Boulais possesses a rich voice, and she soon established herself as a favorite. The items included Hill's Vv'aiata Poi," and "Home, Little Maori, Home." Mr Phillip Lewis was also very successful in his items. "Till Death," and '"The Storm Fiend." Mr Jack Shields, the entertainer of the party, caused plenty of laughter, his animal "mimicking" being excellent. Last but not least we must make mention of Miss McDonald's sympathetic accompaniments to the various performers. The opening and concluding choruses in which the whole company took part, were really splendid. The programme is well worth the patronage of local theatre-goers." The box plans are at Grubb's. The latest Pa'the Gazette, and' a host of other star films will be the order of a first-class entertainment.
