Sixteen Indians, in visiting a football match, crossed the border of Natal. They were sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for contravention of the Immigration Act. The Indians’ action was part of a preconcerted scheme of passive resistance. (Received .8.40 a.m.) Johannesburg, September 22. Sixteen Indians, including four women, were sentenced to three months’ imprisonment in connection with the passive resistance agitation for attempting to cross the border from Natal into the Transvaal.
