The solution consists in awarding a decoration with a red, white and blue ribbon to all faithful domestic ser-
vants. According to a law passed apparently unperceived last July, all domestic servants who have faithfully performed the duties of their estate. I and whose conduct is irreproachable. shall receive a medal like the one bestowed on all faithful clerks, shop assistants, and commercial employees generally. This will entitle them, furthermore, to wear a tri-colored ribbon in their buttonholes. The applicants must have served in trie same house or family for a period of thirty years, and must have earned the commendation of their masters or mistresses.
