Ho stated that the pacification of the country had grown more and mot e unlikely. The United States felt, that some action was necessary, and he therefore despatched Mr Lind; and despite the latter’s reception, the United States still hoped that its good offices would be useful to Mexico, but Huerta’s rule must end if peace is to be restored.
