He recommends a general bousing ml town-planning act c:i the lines of the English Act, with provision for rural villages' for c»ity workers, the State to retain general control of the administration. Further recommendations include the demolition and treatment of shun areas, insistence on a high standard of sanitation and lighting, the repair of congested areas, rehousing of the displaced population, provision for parks and play grounds, loans, to encourage ■ co-partnership building in housing schemes, encouragement of decentralisation, and the formation of new centres on “Garden City” lines, with orgnisation of household services on a common basis.
