ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
DIED .FROM BURNS. [Per Press Association.] Wellington, August 22. At the inquest on Violet Rose Campbell, who died as a result of shock from burns, it was stated in evidence that deceased had threatened to take her life. On the night of the fatality she came to her husband with her dress wet in front and said: “There!” then she went out of the room. Her husband followed aim found her with her clothing on fire. At the hospital the husband asked her: “Did you do it?” She replied: “Of course I did.” She told Detective Lewis that her clothing caught fire accidentally. The Coroner found that death was duo to shook from burns, the evidence not disclosing sufficiently whether the clothing became alight accidentally or by deceased’s action.
