DOMINION OF CANADA.
THE PREFERENTIAL AGREEMENT.
Ottawa," August 11. Although Canada and New Zealanci possess a preferential trade agreement, Canada's percentage of New Zealand's trade is less than those oi countries who have no preference. New Zealand's imports from Canada were 900,000 dollars in the last fiscal year under preference, whilst the inir ports uncovered by preference totalled 1,000,000 dollars. '
NAVAL QUESTIONS. (Received 8.0 a.m.) Ottawa, August 12. Interest has been revived in naval questions. It is suggested that the Government should provide for the construction of three battleships in the Supply Bill next session, hut it is doubtful if this can he clone because the redistribution question will probably be given preference.
