BOROUGH FINANCE.
[To The Editor Stratford Post.]
Sir -In your report of my endeavor to discuss the expenditure-on streets vou say: "He (Cr. Richards) stated that the estimate for road works for the year was £2210. Four months of the year had passed: a just proportion of" the total amount to he spent in that time was a third of the total-£7:36, but to date the amount expended or pledged totalled £325.'' Apparently the printer is to blame because the last amount should read £1825. With an allocation of £2210 for streets for the year, and With £1825 of that amount expended or pledged in four months, I felt justified in seeking the discussion. The total amount-expended or pledged to date for street expenditure nearly equals the total amount allocated for the year. The accuracy and wisdom of the Mayor's ruling, which prevented the discussion, I do not wish to discuss here.—l am, etc.,
