PROGRESS OF EFSDEMSC.

NEW ZEALAND OFFICIAL REPORT [Pku Press Association.] Wellington, August 8. The following smallpox bulletin was issued this evening by the Health Department. : ■j no district health officer in Auckland reports a suspicious case at Auckland. Cases are reported at Glenmurray, in Raglan, County. Two Iresh cases are reported at Kaikohe. FRESH CASES IX SYDNEY. Sydney, August 8. Six fresh cases of smallpox were re ported in the metropolitan area to-clay.

A steward aboard the P. and 0 liner Mongolia, which arrived 15 days ago, and who was vaccinated on Julc 17, when the vessel was between Fre mantle and Adelaide, lias been quar

autined as a suspect. The doctors, however, arc not unanimous as to who ther it is actually smallpox, or who ther it is actually smallpox, or whether the vaccination has been sue csssful. Precautions have been taken to fumigate the vessel and trace con tacts. The steamer is due to sail to morrow.
