The Government Meteorologist (Kev D. C. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows : /,
The indications are for Variable and moderate breezes, weather getting worse, westerly heavy gale after about 24 hours. Heavy rain to be expected, with rivers flooded. The weather will probably be dull and overcast. Barometer rising temporarily, hut falling fast again after about 24 hours.
