INMATES NARROWLY ESCAPE

I An eight-roomed house owned and occupied by Archibald Weir, jun., was destroyed at Broad Bay at 2 a.m. Jthis morning. The inmates barely escaped, two being slightly injured. .The. insurances total £BOO. Mr Weir estimates his loss at £IOOO 'above the insurance. The origin of the fire is a mystery.
UNOCCUPIED HOUSE
Christchurch, July 29
An untenanted house owned by Mr Jas. Neilson was destroyed by fire last night. It was insured for £320 !in the National office.
