SMALL-POX SCARE.
CLEANING UP SYDNEY. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] Sydney, July 28.
There is a big increase in vaccineees at the various depots, as a result ot : the previous two days' small-pox records. The doctors are ominous in their warnings, and the Council is appointing additional sanitary inspectors to ensure a thorough cleaning up of the city. South Australia , while allowing vaccinated railway passengers and their luggage to enter the State from Sydney, has blocked all parcel traffic.

Suva, July 23
The shipping companies resent the quarantine regulations proclaimed on Saturday, and unless they are modified, there is a probability of the islands being isolated. MILD BRISBANE CASE. (Received 9.45 a.m.) Brisbane, July 29. A mild case of small-pox has been discovered.

cer :
There are 64 patients in the Auckland infectious disease hospital, including 12 Europeans. One of the cases, that of a native, is serioiib. Dr. Gunn reports three additional cases at Parawera.
Dr. Te Rangihiroa reports six acute and six convalescent cases at Awarua, two acute, and eight convalescent at Tautere, and one acute and one convalescent case at Rerikeri.
