A movement is on foot in Hastings (says the'Tribune) having as its object a coalition between the Liberals and the forces of Labour, with a view to selecting a candidate for the Hawke’s Bay seat at the next general election who will be acceptable to both parties. Sir Joseph Ward is to be asked to visit Hastings shortly in furtherance of the proposal, which so far has not met with any opposition.
