Masterton, July 20

A six-roomed house owned and occupied by Robert Russell, was gutted by fire at an early hour this morning. Eussell and his family were absent at the time of the fire. The insurances are not available.

Marion, July 21

The Ascot hoardinghouse at Huntorville, owned by Weston and occupied by R. Parker, was totally destroyed by fire at 1.30 this morning. The insurances on the building arc no' available. Parker bad £2OO worth of furniture, and is a heavy loser. It is understood that the (ire originated in the kitchen.
