AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY'S PICTURES. A good attendance greeted the midweek change last night at Bernard's. The dramatic photo plays were or more than ordinary interest. "The Wrong Bottles,"; an i American Biograph stood out as a most sensational plot. "T.A." deals with a' blind girl, her sister, and a falso lover. The scenario is very good reading, as each scene passes before the eye there are exciting but true-to-life incidents. "The Guiding Light" is a fine production: by 'the celebrated L-übin Co., of. America, and is .clear in photography a,nd stands alone. for t acting, • The sceiiei where the dastardly vililian puts out the lamp of the light! in the lighthouse in order to wreck the vessel'conveying ihe keeper's daughter's lover to destruction, met with great applause. "A Leap Year Proposal" shows scftno thousands of dollar's' worth" of'spring fashions and good acting. The scenic portion of the latest kinemacolor is very interesting, and depicts and St. Gothard : in "rill their'grah'deur. The comic portion is screamingly funny. This ' 'programme will be screened to-night and'Saturday, both in the afternoon at'the 2.30, matinee for. country folks, and'in. the"evening, for,the last time. The full programme will be given at the matinee, and should bo a great, draw for the young folks, as it is of a high educational value.
HAMILTONJPLIMMER SEASON
DRAMATIC ATTRACTION
I, After a considerable interval, Strat■ford is to be afforded the opportunity of enjoying the work of a really capable dramatic company. The reference is to the Hamilton-PKmmer Company, which is to produce at the Town Hail on Saturday night next, commencing at 8.30, Widnell's recent London success, "A Woman of Impulse," a play w»hich has been received elsewhere with enthusiasm, and which can hardly fail to give pleasure to those who love an intensely exciting story with plenty of human touches. In the new Hamilton-Plimmer Company we have the strongest dramatic organisation that has visited New Zealand for a considerable time. Mr Arthur Sty ah was for years the leading 'heavy' with Mr Bland Holt. Mr Harry Roberts has headed several companies through New Zealand, and is known as a brilliant and most versatile player. Mr Sidney Sterling and Mr Winter Hall are actors who have for years held responsible positions with Williamson Companies, and Mr Harry Plimmer has led his own company now for the past three years. Miss Beatrice Day returns once more to exhibit her finished art, and Mrs Robert Brough's name is too well known to need any elaboration. The Company also possesses in Miss Ena Collins a young actress of promise. A feature of tlie production will be the gorgeous scenery and the elaborate dresses of the ladies. The box plans are now on view at Grubb's.
