The Ne-w Zealanders easily held their opponents in the first half, which ended New Zealand 12, Metropolitan nil. The game ended New Zealand 27, Metropolitan 10.
CANTERBURY DEFEAT MAORIS
[Per Presb Association.] Christchurch, July 12. Canterbury and Parata's Maori team met to-day, Canterbury winning by 11 points to nil.
MANAWATU DEFEAT HAWKE'S BAY. Palmerston, July 12. The Hawke's Bay touring team played Manawatu on the Show Grounds to-day, Manawatu winning by five points to three.
NORTH TARANAKI MATCHES
The matches played in the North Taranaki division on Saturday resulted as ■ follows: —Star 17, Rovers 6; Ingle wood 9, Okato nil.

In the Brown Shield match to-day Wellington beat Taranaki by five t?oals to two. Shaw scored one of Taranaki'a goals, the other being scored by Mc Glade from a penalty.
