PREFERENCE TO UNIONISTS

The aholition of preference to union istis in the Federal service comes int' operation from to-day. Mr Cook de clares that in future the fact that : man was ndt a member of a Un'io'i would not debar him from the Com inonwealth service. All citizens wouh be treated alike.
