CAUSE OF THE STRANDING

The enquiry into the stranding of the [ndrabnrah was concluded this evening. After evidence had been given by members of the crew and counsel had given their addreses, the Court found as follows: —"The cause of the stranding of the vessel was the strong westerly wind carrying the vessel' south and east. The stranding of the vessel was not due to, or contributed to by negligence or any unlawful net or default of the master or certificated officers of the vessel, but the Court is of opinion thai the master committed an error of judgment in not heading more to the westward, and in going at too slow a rale of speed considering the direction and force of the wind and weather conditions then prevailing No blame, is attached to the other officers, whose (certificates have already been returned. The master's certificate i< now,.returned, and no ordei i» made as to costs,"
