AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY’S PICTURES,
There was a good attendance at His Majesty’s Theatre last night, when a change of programme was submitted. The “star” drama was “Flesh and Blood,” a lengthy film which held the attention of the audience throughout. It deals with the great self-sacrifice of a retired crime investigator whose son becomes a thief, the old man himself taking the punishment for his son’s misdeeds. Other excellent dramas screened were “Mrs Liniper’s Legacy,” “Little Jock O’Connor,” and “On the Threshold.” An extremely interesting film was that showing the various operations gone through in the preparation of hemp for market, the picture having been taken at a New Zealand flaxmill. Some fine scenery on the Lake of Traune was shown, and the Animated News dealt with a great number of topical subjects. The comics, “Tweedledum as Anarchist.” “Tightwad’s Predicament,” and “Losing his Head” were all excellent. The incidental music by the orchestra was a pleasing feature of the enetrtainment. , The programme will be continued until Wednesday.
