FIRE.

[Pee Press Association.] A firo was discovered late on Thursday night in the workroom, store and grindery attached to the rear of Messrs. Hannah and Co.’s premises, Hawera. The fire, brigade ‘promptly subdued the outbreak, though not before the room had been considerably burnt. A lot of stock and leather was destroyed, and the manager (Mr Jeffries) estimates that the damage is approximately £SOO. He cannot account for the outbreak, as everything was apparently quite safe when he left the building at 9.15. The stock is insured in the New Zealand office.
