AMONG THE ROSES.

ON ALEXANDRA DAY. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] London, June 26. There were twenty thousand sellers of roses on Alexandra Day, and it is estimated that over £IBOO was realised. Both Queens had a great reception in the streets. Many buildings were decked with artificial roses. Ladies invaded the Stock Exchange and the brokers auctioned flowers, refusing bids of under £l. A member of the Stock Exchange bid £2O for a spray. Fifty New Zealand ladies scored a great success at Whitehall. The Australian organisation fell through. The Daily Mail, in a column article, describes Australia’s Wattle Day, likening it to Alexandra Day.
