AMUSEMENTS.
HTS MAJESTY’S PICTURES. A complete change of programme will ho submitted at His Majesty’s Theatre this evening. The chief item of interest will he “The Rose of Thebes,” a thrilling tale of ancient Egyptian life. Other good dramas to be shown are “Bar K. Foreman,” “The Smart Lady Detective,” and ‘The Cowboy’s Adopted Child.”** The scenic section is represented by views in Bettoos-y-cole, and the picture showing operations of the Norwegian whalers in Jervis Bay, New South Wales, be highly interesting. The comic pictures, as usual, are a mirth-provoking lot. SCOTTISH CONCERT TO-NIGHT. In the past the Taranaki Provincial Scottish Society has gained an enviable reputation for the manner in which its functions have been managed, and everything points to that reputation being upheld and enhanced by the concert to be held this evening in the Town Hall. Proceedings will open with a selection by the Society’s Pipe Band, after which an address will be delivered by the Chief, Mr \V . L. Kennedy. Outside performers of acknowledged merit have been secured to contribute to the vocal programme, and the section devoted to Highland dancing should be not the least enjoyable part of the evening’s entertainment. After the concert programme, supper will bo served, and the rest of the evening will be devoted to dancing, Richardson’s orchestra supplying the music.
