Sir Edward Grey, during the eign Office vote debate, said the argument entered into with Turkey whereby the railway was left unprotected beyond Barra was executed without Britain's consent. Germany ,vas not a party to the agreement, but it was essential that Germany should be satisfied that nothing therein conflicted with her rights. The same remark regarding Britain's position applied to Germany's Bagdad igreemnt with Turkey. Mr Bonar Law paid a tribute to Sir Edward Grey's sirccess in connection with the Balkan question.
