PALMERSTON SESSIONS . [Per Press Association.] Palmerston, May 21. In the Supreme Court, Thomas Montague, jun., for indecent assault, was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment. ISSUING VALUELESS CHEQUES. Invercargill, May 21. George Maxwell, with several aliases, was sentenced to three month’s imprisonment for obtaining £2 18s from Henry Ernest Rout, by a valueless cheque. Prisoner purchased a sovereign case from the complainant, presenting a cheque for £4 3s, and received £2 18s in change. He has to answer similar charges in Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, and Palmerston North.
