A few cases ■of prolonged irregular attendance arc being dealt with by tho truant officer. Tho term holidays are to be taken next week froiji May 23 to June 2. The school re-opens on the latter date and closes again on June 3 for the King’s birthday. For the first ■ time for many years we are working with full staffs in both school depart- j ments, and the whole of the work is ( proceeding in a satisfactory manner. In one or two divisions of our Piimaiy School the work being done is of a ■ very high standard. In one secondary department, owing to the appointment . at the beginning of the year of an additional teacher, we have been _ able to re-arrange the whole work, so ‘ that greater attention can be given to special subjects and more time ' devoted to the studies of our advanced pupils. The Visiting Committee have | notes of the various matters that require attention. The floor of the • porch in the infant room requites ie touching, and this should be attended J to next week. The report was adopted. ! Accounts to the amount of £8 14s were passed for payment.
