On Monday, 12 th just., in my Toko yards there .was, only a small entry, which sold as,follows Store cows £1 to £3 :ss, small 18-month steers £3; weaners £1 3s to £1 6s, fat.cows £6 10s, in calf heifers £4 10s to £6 ss,' lambs 9s lOd. • •
At Stratford yards on Tuesday, owing to the very rough weather; I had only a small entry with a fair attendance of the public. Bidding throughout was slack, sales being made at prices a shade below late market rates as fallows:—Weaners, mixed, £1 to £1 ss, empty 18-month heifers £2 7s, in calf 20-month heifers £3 to £4 10s, store cows £1 Is to £3 os, forward cows £3 16s to £4 13s, fat cows up to £5. T7s, hulls £2 7s Cd to £2 10s, in calf 2|-yea.r bhifhrs tip to £5 10s, springing heifers £4 17s Gd, lalnbs 8s 9d, 2-tooth ewes (small) 8s 6d,' 2-tooth wethers 14s 7d., On Wednesday, at my Stony River yards weaner steers made £1 15s 6d, small for Jersey’ IGs to 18s, weaner heifers £1 12s Gd to £2 Is Gd, empty 20-month heifers £3„ in calf 18-morith heifers £2 19s, store cows £2 13s to £3 19s, aged cows £1 Is to £1 11s, guaranteed cows £G.
Clearing Sale.—On Monday, 12th inst., I held a sale on account of Mrs M. J. Thompson;- Omata. There was a large attendance of the public, making good competition for all lines. The cows were rather low in condition, but had a good strain of Jersey, and sold satisfactorily as follows :—Choice young cows £lO to £l3, good £7 to £9, backward £4 15s to £6, three-quarter cows £3 10s, choich Jersey in calf heifers £8 2s GtT, grades £4 10s, choice colored weaner heifers £(5 3s, small £1 10s. On account of other vendors £3, colored weaner heifers £2 4s Gd, in calf 20-month heifers £3 I ts to £3 17s, springing heifers £5 ss, weaners, mixed; £1 10s. Private sales.—Forward cows £4 ss, colored weaner heifers £2 4 s Gd to £2 10s, dairy herds £lO and £ll, grade 2i year heifers £5, Jersey in calf 2year heifers £7 17s Gd and £6, Holstein 2-year in calf heifers £8 10s, £7 os, £G, lambs 10s, culls 5s Gd, fat heavy wethers 17s to 19s, fat ewes 15s, 14 s Gd, 14s 3d.
