HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE,
“Brother and Sister’’ is the star picture to be presented at His Majesty’s Theatre on Monday evening. John Storm, a merchant, is assisted by ids daughter Laura, also his son Alvin, a young spendthrift who, without his father’s knowledge is accumulating debts, until, not knowing where to turn for money, and being infatuated with a mercenary adventuress, on whom he lavishes money, he robs his father’s safe and forges his father’s name to back a bill. Birk, John Storm’s book-keeper, is secretly in love with Laura, but fears to confess his love, although he hopes and believes Laura 'would return his affections. When the robbery is discovered, Birk is accused of the robbery, with the result that he leaves John Storm’s employ. Some time later, Birk becomes heir to * a large fortune, but meanwhile things have not prospered with Storm. He finds he has accused the wrong man of theft, the moneylender producing the forged bill for payment. Storm finds that his son is not only a robber but a forger, and by his constant ex-.) i travagance he has ruined his father, who becomes a bankrupt. Angry and disappointed, he disowns his son,, and sends him from the house. Birk, however, Ids love for' Laura * strong, does not lose sight of them, and when the business is in the market he becomes a purchaser. Laui'a becomes his wife, and he is thus able to re-instate the old man in his former business. The son plans to again rob the house in which his father and sister live. He enters the house with his confederates, but whilst at the safe he is confronted by his bro-ther-in-law, who holds him' at bay ‘ with a revolver. The police are called, but by a clever ruse the gang is captured, leaving the son with Ids father and sister. A new life is planned for Alvin. “Waterplane Trials in the Japan- j, ese Navy,” “Stage Struck,” “Sheepskin Trousers,” “Gaumont Graphic,” “Old Chess Players,” “Californian Snipe Hunt,” and “Reconciled by Burglars” are other films in this series.'
