At the annual meeting of the Taranaki Football Association held in Eltham on Thursday afternoon, Messrs East represented Stratford. Mr , East applied for affiliation on behalf of the Stratford Club., Mr Clark said all present were, no doubt aware that Stratford were in debt to the Association. The Stratford club had been very unfortunate. Their first secretary had absconded with the whole of their finances fo the amount of £7. He had been instructed to request the Association to wipe their arrears off. They fully intended keeping up their future payments. —Affiliation was acceded to.

The secretary was instructed to advise affiliated clubs that the question of fixtures and districts be discussed at the next meeting of the Association, to be held on 30th April, at Stratford. Officers for the ensuing season were elected as follows:—President, Mr C. A. Wilkinson, M.P.; vice-Presidents, Mesrs C. E. Betts (Kaponga), 11. Donald (Manaia), J. McCluggage (Stratford), Dr. Walker (New Plymouth), and H. Whelan (Okaiawa); chairman, Rev. W. Stent; secretary, Mr East; auditor, Rev. W. A. Butler (Stratford); representatives to the New Zealand Association, Rev. W. Stent and Mr Munckton. Betts were nominated as, referees.

The chairman said there had been a proposal made at New Plymouth recently to arrange a match with a “soccer” team from the H.M.S. New Zealand on the occasion of the battleship’s visit. He said there would be a good crowd present, and as no doubt the warship would bo able to provide a good team it would be one of the best advertisements they could obtain. He proposed that the secretary of the Association be instructed to write to Capt. Halsey and endeavour to arrange this match.—Agreed to.—Abridged from Eltham Argus.
