With the introduction of substantial economy in both administration ard capital expenditure, the directors were confident of the resumption of dividends as soon as the returns from the amalgamated concerns were forthcoming. A vote of confidence in the directors was carried, and they were rs-elected. WRECK OF TEE MINDORO. Brisbane, April 17. The wreck of the Mindoro has been abandoned. The Court found that the loss was caused by an abnormal current, and exonerated the captain. ALLEGED MURDERER SUICIDES. Melbourne, April 16. Tames Rawlings, awaiting trial for the murder of Alice Hudson, committed suicide in the Melbourne gaol by strangling himself with his braces.
