LABOR’S EMANCIPATION.

AND VOTES FOR WOMEN. By Elecfeno Telegraph.—Copyright (United Press Association.) (Received 9.15 a.m.) London, March 25. At the Independent Labor Conference at Manchester, Mr Keir Hardie, M.P ~ was elected chairman. A resolution was passed that the Party should oppose all electoral reform until the Government introduced the franchise for women. The executive’s report regarding the progress of the movement in Britain is of an optimistic character. It states that the workers are now quicker to resent and resist any injustice, and that they no longer accept bad conditions as part of the natural order of things. The Socialists’ universal agitation against militarism, it was averred, was creating a new power in democracy.
