During a trial of the Zeppelin at Friedrichsaffen, in a strong wind, the machine gun on the upper deck was handled with ease and precision. Five hundred rounds of ball cartridge were fired, and the results are regarded as most important.

A memorial signed by the Duke of Argyle, Lord Methuen, Lord Charles Beresford, and other influential persons, was presented to Mr Asquith (Premier) urging that provision be made in the estimates to place tne air services on a satisfactory basis.
