THE STEAMER KOWHAI

I Per Press Association.) Dunedin, March 12. The steamer Kowhai, which had to be beached this morning as the result of being carried over the mole at the head's, was shifted this afternoon, as the incoming tide and wind were causing her forepart to bump on the rocks. She was hauled up to the sandy beach near the Spit jetty, and moored there. A portion of her cargo was discharged into the hulk Empreze, and a diver went down to ascertain the extent ol the damage and place collision mats over the damaged hull. The Kowhai will he pumped out' by suction dredge No. 404 to-morrow, and it is hoped to have her in dock some tine during the day.
