There was glorious weather, the attendance fair, and the course in excellent condition. Omaranui Hurdles.—Eiya 1, Gay Lawless 2,’ Cally Bridge 3. Scratched: Player, Prince Eddie. Time 3rnin 20 2-sscc. Won hy length, half 'a length between second and third. Esk Handicap.—Caher Davon 1, Great Mogul 2', Fair Rosamond 3. Scratched: Passadena, Tcviotdalo, Axis, Portraiture, Manuwhiri. Won by a length easily. Time, 61 2-ssec. Cup.—Cheddar 1, Birkline 2, Labour Day 3. Ariorn was first past the stand. At the rear of the course Peacemaker went up and the pair made good pace for half a mile. Cheddar took the lead before entering the straight and won in .comfort bv a 1 length. Scratched : Rangiatua. Tune, 2min 9 3-ssec. Trial Hack—Land Rail 1, Dayfly 2, The Summit 3. Scratched: Adriatic, Clover, Microbe, Master Achilles. Land Rail led all the way and won by half a length. Time, Imin 17 3-ssec.
