AUCKLAND DRAINAGE LOAN. London, March 12. The Auckland Suburban Drainage Board lias issued a hundred thousand 11 per cent debentures at 91, payable in 1924. The list closes on March 15. BRITAIN’S REVENUE RETURNS. London, March 11. The estimates show that the expenditure of the revenue departments was £28,898,720, an increase of £836,000, of which the Post Office increase is £65,420. The salaries of inland revenue officers have required an additional £7500, for the salaries of the laud valuation officers, besides £17,000 for travelling allowances. AN EXCHANGE OF LAND.
(Received 9 a.m.) London, March 12. The Duke of Sutherland has sold to J. Stewart, a Canadian, 50,000 acres in Sutherlandshire. The Duke is a buyer of land in Canada. SOCIAL AND POLITICAL UNION. (Received 9.10 a.m.) London, March 12. Members of the Social and Political Union are parading the river-front daily during practice. Boatmen are instructed to duck them summarily if they attempt to interfere with the boats.

(Received 10.20 a.m.) London, March 12. Morris Loufer, a. tobacconist, was sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment for manslaughter by setting fire to his premises on 21th January. Samuel Loufer was acquitted. AVOIDING THE CUSTOMS. (Received 10.25 a.m.) Paris, March 12. Montecentical Products Limited have been fined £56,000 for trafficking In alcohol slightly disguised in colouring in order to avoid Customs duty to Melbourne and Sydney.
