LONDON WOOL SALES. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) (Received 12.15 p.m.) London, March 5. The wool sales were well attended yesterday, and prices were fully confirmed. For coarse crossbreds there was a keen demand at 7\ per cent advance. Rabbit skins opened quiet at late rates, but prices suffered a penny decline. A BIG HORSE DEAL. (Received 11.55 a.m.) London, March 5. Since October, J. J. Morton has purchased £IO,OOO worth of English, French, and German breeding horses and cattle for South Africa. UNCLEANLINESS IN DAIRY EXPORTS. (Received 11.55 a.m.) London, March 5. Complaints have been made of the poor condition of recent shipments of butter and cheese from certain New Zealand factories. Experts declare these are due to uncleanliness. T. LAMASON’S REPORT. Last Saturday I held my usual weekly sale ,when there was an exceptional attendance of the public, and the different lines brought very satisfactory prices. I quote as follows; Hens Is to Is 9d, pullets Is 9d to 3s 3d, roosters Is 3d to 2s, cockerels Is to Is Bd, ducks Is 6d to 2«, furniture, etc., at usual auction rates. About 700 cases of fruit were sold during the week. Peaches Is 6d to 4s, apples Is 9d to ss, plums 3s 6d, tomatoes 2s to 4s 6d, grapes 3s 6d to 5s according to quality and size of case.
