The cruiser Yorick rammed and sank torpedoer No. 2178, two miles south of Heligoland. Fifty were drowned, and only 15 saved. For several days the North Sea Fleet lias been manoeuvring near Heligoland . The Kaiser on Monday inspected torpedo No. 2178 (which was rammed by the Yorick) at Wilhelmshaven. He boarded a battleship to watch tlicl manoeuvres and returned shortly before the catastrophe. The torpedoer left Wilhelmshaven yesterday to join the manoeuvres. She I was cut in halves at midnight and sank like a stone. The ships immediately sent up flares and concentrated searchlights on the scene to enable the undamaged Yorick to perform rescue , work. Sixty-seven were drowned, including ; the commander and navigating officer.
