DOMINION RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
(Per Press Association.) Trentharn, February 28. A start was made this morning with the first of a series of teams matches. The Regimental Teams match (300yds, 500yds, 600yds) included, snap, rapid, and slow shooting conditions new to most of the men, and there was a somewhat stiff left wind. Under the circumstances, the shooting may be considered fairly good. Although the match was the first of the kind since the Territorials were established, no Territorials, apart from members of rifle clubs, entered. Ten teams competed, with the following result:— Wellington Suburbs, £7, fO2; Christ, church, £4, 284; Auckland City, £2, 281; Akarana, £2, 263; Karori A, £2, 260; New Plymouth 258, Opaki 250, Karori B 222, Opaki B 220, Opaki C 219. Trentharn, February' 28. The field firing competition, firing gn target at intervals from 800yds to 500yds was won by Opaki A with 26 points, £7 ; Christchurch and suburbs 20, £3 each.
