TENNIS.
STRAFORD ST. ANDREW’S St. Andrew’s again inflicted a defeat on Stratford “B”. The afternoon was ideal for tehfiis, and some good games resulted. An enjoyable afternoon tea was provided by the St. Andrew’s ladies, on whose courts the match was played. The following are the scares, Stratford players being mentioned first in each instance:— MEN’S SINGLES. Rutherfurd beat Syme, 9—2; Jones lost to Douglas, 5—9; Wright beat Anderson, 9—7 ; Munro lost to Chadwick, 29 ; Croker lost to Patrick, 5 —9 ; Macalister lost to Tcmplcr, 3—9. LADIES’ SINGLES. Mrs Rennell lost to Miss Brayshaw, o—7; Miss O’Brien beat Miss Petrie, 7—3; Miss Bayly lost to Miss O’Leary, 3 MEN’S DOUBLES. Rutherfurd and Jones beat Syme and Chadwick, 9—B; Wright, and Munro lost to Douglas and Anderson, 4—9; Croker and Macalister lost to Patrick and Tcmplcr, G—9. LADIES’ DOUBLES. Mrs Rennell and Miss O’Brien lost to Misses Braysliaw and Petrie, d—7; Misses O’Brft'n and Bayly heat Misses O’Leary and Munson, 7—2. Totals: St. Andrew’s 97, Stratford “B” 74.
