ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS’ FATE. (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, February 27. A post-mortem examination of the body of George Crocker Smith, about 70 years of age, who was found dead in bed at the Grand Hotel, disclosed extensive heart disease. Death was attributed to either cardiac failure or angina pectoris. At the inquest a verdict to this effect was returned. The deceased represented the Wiley and Russell Manufacturing Company, Massachusetts, America. A JOCKEY BOY’S DEATH. Hastings, February 28. Thomas Jones, 16, apprenticed to J. M. Cameron, at the training stables, was kicked by a racehorse this morning and killed outright. Deceased parents reside here.
