- i(Per Press Association.) Trentham, February 27. The matches taken during the day were three of the individual service series, viz., the loophole cover at 500yds, rapid shooting at 500yds, and snapshooting at 300yds. The shooting on the whole was fairly good. In the loophole cover shooting, Rifleman Roots, of Patea, was top scorer, with 33 out of a possible 35, while in rapid shooting Yeo, of Auckland, reached within a point of the possible. In snapshooting 21 was the highest score. The prize list in the rapid shooting match, figure targets, 7 rounds, 30 seconds for the first shot, and 45 for the remaining shots, was as follows: Yeo (Auckland), 34, £5; Green (Westport), Moselin (Kaeo), 31 each, £3 10s; Montgomery (Dunedin), Swanson (Opaki), Rowe (Blenheim), < Belle (Woodville), Snelling (Wellington), Drennan (Wanganui), and Williams (Ohura), 39 each, £1 Us Gd. Loophole Cover Match, of 500yds, 7 shots, first exposure 30sec., remaining 6 shots.—Rifleman Roots (Patea), 33, £5; Rifleman Cox (Auckland), 32, £4; Lieutenant Narbey (IJltham), 31, £3; Rifleman Cassell (Wellington), 31, £3. Snap-shooting, 5 shots, 4sec. exposure, at 300yds.—Rifleman Cox (Auckland), 21, £5 jLicutenant Green (Westport), 20, £4; Sergeant Brydon (Kaiapoi), 20, £3.
