ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
THREE MEN IN A BOAT. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, February 18. Three men (Malcolm, Pengelly, and Guinnane), employees of the Railway Department, went in a boat to fish off Paekakariki late this afternoon, at a distance of less than half a mile from the shore. A heavy swell upset the boat. Guinnane and Malcolm hung on to the side of the boat, hut Pengally sank immediately and was not seen again. The boat drifted about mine time, and finaly a rescue party went out and picked up Guinnane and Malcolm. The latter was in a very exhausted condition and was suffering considerably through being knocked against the boat by the waves.
