POLICEMEN SENTENCED. London, February 13. SHACKLETON SENT FOR TRIAL. Thomas Garliek, accountant, and Shackleton have been remanded on a charge of conspiring to defraud Lord Ronald Cower of £40,000, Frank Bird of £6OOO, and Miss Browne of £12,000. Shackleton was committed for trial on a charge of misappropriating £ISOO. Counsel stated that Lord Ronald Gower was ruined after entrusting the management of his affairs to defendants. Garliek, who was given a power of attorney, sold Gower’s stock and credited Gower with shares in the International Financial Development Corporation, and paid him alleged dividends. He also acted similarly in other cases. AGRICULTURAL SHOW. The King will open the Royal Agricultural Show at Bristol in July.
