Mr Redmond O’Connor represented the Nationalists at the service at St. Paul’s. Members of the Stock Exchange have opened a fund for the dependents of the lost explorers. Memorial services have been held at St. Giles’s (Edinburgh), and at GestingtWpe, ■ Captain Oates’s native village. The Dannevirke Borough Council placed on record its appreciation of the gallantry of the South Pole heroes, and pledged itself to support the fund to relieve the burden on those dependent on the lost explorers.
