POSTAL RATES. Letters ami Letter Cards. —Inland, including Cook Islands, Id for each ioz or fraction thereof, and for each succeeding 2oz. United Kingdom, British. Possessions, United States, Chili, Costa ilica, Egypt, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Peru, Pago Pago, Paraguay, Portugal, and Portuguese Colonies, Siam, Servia, and festal Agencies in Chinese Treaty Ports, Id for each oz. or fraction thereof; all other places 2Jd for the first oz. or fraction tueroof, and lsd for each succeeding oz. or fraction thereof. Post Cards.—lnland, single, id; reply, id; all other places, single, id; reply 2d. Printed Papers (faemding Books and Magazines, not registered).—All places, id per 2oz ■ Magazines (registered), inland, id for every, Boz or fraction thereof. Foreign, id per 2oz or fraction thereof. One end must bo left open. Sommsrcial Papers.—Town (for accounts, etc., only), id for 2ozs, or Id for first 4oz and id each succeeding 2oz. Inland, Id for first 4oz, and id , for each succeeding 2oz. All other places lOoz 2-Jd, and id for every additional 2oz (Open for inspection). Newspapers.—Town and Inland, id each. United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Ceylon, India, Jamaica, Natal, Orange River, South Sea Islands, and Transvaal, id each paper. If unde: Boz sent oy first available route; over Boz sent by direct steamer only, unless specially addressed and paid at rate of Id for first 4oz and id for each succeeding 2oz. All other places Id each under 4oz and id eacl extra 2oz. Registration.—2d additional for all places. TELEPHONES. CSiargea.— Ac exenanges continuously open—Business establishments, £7; private residences, £5 per annum. Exchanges not continuously open, an equal charge of £5. Telephone Exchanges at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill,, Napier, Hastings, Palmerston North, and Wanganui are open all day and fill' night. The other Exchanges chiefly from 9 to 5 p.m. TELEGRAPHIC RATES. For 12 words or less, including address and signature— Ordinary Telegrams, 6d, and id for each additional word.
