ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
FATAL STONE-THROWING. (Per Press Assertion.) Dunedin, February 5. At the inquest on the body of Cecil Robert Randall, who died from hemorrhage of the brain on Tuesday morning, the evidence showed that deceased and a cousin named Duncan McGillvray, aged 14 years, were playing on Sunday. McGillvray threw a stone at a fowl and hit diseased by mistake. Deceased became ill next morning, and when the doctor was called was unconscious. An operation was performed as soon as possible, hut the lad never regained consciousness. , A verdict of accidental death was returned. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. Wellington, February 5. John Buchanan, residing at a hoarding house in the Terrace was found in a bathroom with his throat cut. Ho had lost a large quantity of blood and now lies in the Hospital in a critical condition. He is a laborer employed in the Union Steamship Company’s repair yards.
