FOXTON RACES

The attendance is large, and the course is in tip-top condition. Speculation on the first race was very small, a lot of money being shut out, This was not through the fault of the officials, but through backers leaving it too late before getting their money on. Results: —
Hack Hurdle Handicap, of 100 sovs; one mile and a half.—Mr. J. Preston’s Serenity, 9.9- 1; Mr. J. R. Brice’s Whimper, 10.9, 2; Mr. A. Symon’s Eiya, 10.0, 3. Scratched: Sunrose. Won by about three lengths, with Eiya two lengths away third. Electric Handicap.—Heather (Oliver) 1, Waiteato 2, Genoa 3. Also started : Madiero. Scratched : Black Lupin, Eminent, Vladinoy, Patronymic, Ruapara, Roseblush. Wo i easily by three lengths. Time Irain 15sec.
